A short wisdom story (midrash) from the Jewish tradition:

A group of people were travelling in a boat. One of them took a drill and began to drill a hole beneath his seat.

The others shouted, "Stop! Why are you doing this?"

He answered, "Why do you care? I'm drilling under my own place!"
