Is it even worth checking out my roof for solar potential? Or my church's? How can I find out?
Various online tools have been available to answer just such questions, but it seems Google is no longer licensing its Google Maps technology for such third-party tools - because Google has created its own. And it looks quite extensive and useful!
So check Google's Project Sunroof out here. Just enter your address, or your church's, and see what you get! (Shown below, my address - it now has solar on it, though!) This is, of course, just an estimate. Talk to a qualified solar installer for more details about your specific installation; find them at the Illinois Solar Energy Association here.
